Hhelp Darling Downs is a non-government, community based, charitable organisation providing a range of services to around 145 people with a disability, originating in 1978 as a self help group. The purpose for the formation of the self help group was to support and encourage people with a disability to become more involved in the Toowoomba community.

Hhelp Darling Downs celebrated 25 years of service in 2005. The services that we provide include a number of Integrated Accommodation Support Services, Community Access, Independent Living Training, Post School Services, Personal Care and Community Linking and a range of other Individual Programs offered as Social Skills training or Life Skills training. We also offer a range of day programs and provide respite to clients through the auspice of other agencies. The expertise of Hhelp Darling Downs Inc. is in providing short, medium and long term support in activities of daily living and personal care, respite, independent living training, community access and linking, education and employment opportunities. It is our belief that all our performance indicators should be both measurable, and achievable.

Our aim is to provide high quality services based on individual need. The Board of Management is comprised of people from Toowoomba and the Western Region of Queensland, representing a range of skills and experience. Hhelp Darling Downs has made a positive response to the challenges that lay before it and has established a clear process for the pursuit of identified objectives. As a result of the efforts of many, today Hhelp Darling Downs is a progressive and diverse organisation that exists through the achievements of people with disabilities, their families, their carers, a supportive local community, and a dedicated staff team.

We see ourselves as being competent in delivering a wide variety of services to individual demands and at the same time increasing the quality of life for our clients, with particular emphasis on becoming accepted members of the community, independence, and meaningful relationships.

It is our firm belief that we offer an excellent client based service delivery model and that with fine tuning for local culture and dynamics we could provide services that would encompass the needs of a person looking for a quality lifestyle anywhere in the Southern Region of Queensland.
